Force Awakens $50M Pre-Sales, New Pics

“Star Wars: The Force Awakens” is already breaking box-office records a full month ahead of its release. Variety reports that this seventh film in the hugely popular franchise has generated more than $50 million in advance ticket sales already.

Fandango says that the picture is the biggest pre-seller in the history of the ticketing company, trumping the first “The Hunger Games”. Most IMAX screenings have sold out, but tickets still remain for many shows on opening weekend. Theater chains are continually adding extra showtimes as well to keep up with demand.

In related news, a new photo has gone up of actor Adam Driver as the film’s primary villain Kylo Ren. Empire Online debuted the shot and spoke with the actor who says his character isn’t a clear cut evil person:

“When they [the bad guy] think of their actions as morally justified, it makes them dangerous and unpredictable. There’s no level they won’t go to to accomplish what they’re after. I never thought of the character as an evil person.”

You can check out that photo below along with a shot from Gizmodo of an action figure of what’s being dubbed a ‘Riot Control Stormtrooper’. A first look at this type of Stormtrooper was seen in the most recent TV spot this week where he engages in a fight with John Boyega’s Finn.
