Force Awakens 360 Video, Emotional Script

Facebook has begun rolling out 360-degree videos in its News Feed with several publishers offering videos using the technology.

Most notable is Disney and Lucasfilm who have debuted an exclusive 360 experience from “Star Wars: The Force Awakens”. The video allows you to look around the desert planet of Jakku and a crashed Star Destroyer on its surface. You get to choose what angle you want to see it from.

The video was created exclusively for Facebook. The catch is the tech only works on certainly platforms – Android (not iOS) on mobiles, and only in Firefox and Chrome on the web.

The film’s star John Boyega recently gave an interview to GQ about the film and how the screenplay moved him: “When I read the script I cried, and I’m not really a big crier. I’m more like a frog-in-the-throat kind of guy, who’ll try to hold it in and make sure I don’t let it all out.”
