Focus Picks Up Anderson & Day-Lewis Project

A few months back many cinephiles got hot and bothered over the rumors of a reunion of “There Will Be Blood” star Daniel Day-Lewis and director Paul Thomas Anderson in an untitled film reportedly set in the fashion world of New York City during the 1950s.

Today comes word that Focus Features has acquired worldwide rights to the project which won’t be in the Big Apple but rather London. It will though be set in the 1950s era of the couture world.

Focus will distribute the film in the U.S. with Universal Pictures handling international distribution. Annapurna Pictures is producing the movie, with Anderson and JoAnne Sellar producing.

Production is slated to begin in January for release in late 2017.
