Universal’s art house label Focus Features have announced their release slate for the first half of 2012.
Paul Weitz’s “Being Flynn”, an adaptation of Nick Flynn’s 2004 memoir “Another Bulls t Night in Suck City”, will open in select cities on Friday March 2nd. Paul Dano plays a young writer trying to define himself. Robert De Niro and Julianne Moore also star.
Lorene Scafaria’s “Seeking a Friend for the End of the World” is set to hit on Friday April 20th. Steve Carell and Keira Knightley play two people whose lives converge when humanity’s last days are at hand.
Wes Anderson’s “Moonrise Kingdom” has been scheduled to open in select cities on Friday May 25th. The story is set on an island off the coast of New England in the 1960s and follows a young boy and girl falling in love.
Already announced is LAIKA’s 3D stop-motion comedy thriller “ParaNorman” for Friday August 17th. Not yet scheduled but later in the year will be Roger Michell’s “Hyde Park on Hudson” and Joe Wright’s “Anna Karenina”.
