Focus Adapting Peter Hedges’ “Heights”

Focus Features has scored the film rights to Peter Hedges’ novel “The Heights” says Variety.

The story follows a seemingly perfect couple raising their children in an upper class neighborhood who find their lives turned upside down by a wealthy couple moving in next door.

Hedges will adapt the script along with directing and producing the feature. Hedges directed both “Dan in Real Life” and “Pieces of April” along with the script for the film adaptation of “What’s Eating Gilbert Grape”.
