Flash Teases Firestorm, Gideon, Supergirl

A couple of brief updates about The CW’s “The Flash” today. First up, it has been confirmed that “Firefly” and “Homeland” actress Morena Baccarin is the person who provided the voice of Gideon, Harrison Wells’ A.I. personal assistant, in this week’s episode of “The Flash”.

It isn’t known yet if Gideon will be appearing in future episodes, but it marks Baccarin second current foray into DC Comics on TV as she will be playing the recurring role of Dr. Leslie Thompkins in Fox’s “Gotham” and will become a series regular on that show next season.

Next up, executive producer Greg Berlanti teases that CBS’ upcoming “Supergirl” film could crossover into The CW’s “Arrow” and “The Flash,” assuming the network would allow it. The news comes from an excerpt from Entertainment Weekly:

“Later in the afternoon at his other office on the Warner Bros. lot, Berlanti meets with fellow producer Ali Adler and Oscar-winning costume designer Colleen Atwood to go over looks for their upcoming revamp of Supergirl. The show will follow 24-year-old Kara Zor-El, Superman’s cousin, and with a twist that that could melt fanboy brains, Berlanti says it’s possible this Supergirl could enter the worlds of Arrow and The Flash.”

Finally, actor Robbie Amell has posted a photo of his charred self along with actor Victor Garber as Dr. Martin Stein in an upcoming episode of the series. The actors are both set to become the iconic comic character of Firestorm in the series.
