The launch of The CW’s “The Flash” on Tuesday night pulled in a Live + Same Day audience of 4.54 million viewers and a 1.8 rating with adults 18-49. That is the network’s highest-rated series premiere episode since the launch of “The Vampire Diaries” in 2009.
The ratings were impressive as “Flash” kicked off the night on the network, with its long running “Supernatural” following on afterwards with a rock steady 1.2 rating.
Reviews were also solid, the series scoring a 73/100 on Metacritic which puts it on par with the likes of “Outlander” and “Black Jesus” and ahead of the launches of “The Strain” (72/100) and “Gotham” (71/100).
The news comes as new photos from the show’s set showcase a first look at The Flash’s arch nemesis Reverse Flash/Professor Zoom. Those photos can be found over at Grant Gustin News.
