Gabrielle Stanton, an executive producer on “The Flash,” has confirmed that despite the events of the first season finale, Harrison Wells (Tom Cavanagh) is returning for the new season of The CW superhero series and explained to TV Line how that’s going to come about:
“Harrison Wells will be back, but he’s going to be a very different Harrison Wells than we’ve seen before. We’ve got other worlds. We’ve got other timelines. All I’m going to say is he’s from one of those places.”
Actress Danielle Panabaker has also spoken about the new season whilst appearing at DragonCon over the weekend. She tells Collider that though the series will jump six months ahead in the narrative, the premiere will address events in the finale: “We will deal with the singularity and everything that’s going on.”
The biggest additions to the cast have been Teddy Sears as alternate Flash Jay Garrick, and Shantel VanSanten as Barry’s potential new love interest Patty Spivot. She indicates production on “DC’s Legends of Tomorrow” kicks off this week and that Victor Garber’s Dr. Martin Stein plays a key role in the fourth episode of “The Flash” for this season.
