“Flash” Gets Female Lead, “Squad” Cameo?

A several weeks old report has now been confirmed – “Dope” actress Kiersey Clemons will play the female lead role of Iris West opposite Ezra Miller’s Barry Allen in the Rick Famuyiwa-directed “The Flash” film at Warner Bros. Pictures.

Clemons beat out the likes of Lucy Boynton (“Sing Street”) and Rita Ora (“50 Shades of Grey”) for the part of the journalist and potential future love interest for the character. Candice Patton plays the role of Iris West opposite Grant Gustin’s Barry Allen in “The Flash” on The CW’s TV series about the character.

Meanwhile some astute fans at CBM have been scouring the footage from both “Justice League” and “Suicide Squad” that was released at Comic Con this weekend and came up with a deduction – that one scene in ‘Squad’ sees Captain Boomerang (Jai Courtney) being taken down during a bank robbery by The Flash.

The footage shows Boomerang being thrown back by something shooting lightning the same way Miller’s version of The Flash does in the ‘Justice’ promo. We’ll know either way shortly as “Suicide Squad” begins screening for critics in a few days.
