Not casting news as such, but recently a couple of filmmakers have spoken up about whom they’re pursuing to star in their next projects.
First up Gary Oldman will soon be returning to the director’s role for his second feature film and tells The Daily Mail that he wants his Oscar-winning “Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy” co-star Colin Firth for the lead.
Oldman says he’s been considering the project for some time and can’t say what it is, but does confirm that “it’s a remake”.
Meanwhile, “Melancholia” director Lars von Trier is hard at work readying his next film, “Nymphomania”, and actor Stellan Skarsgard confirmed to Screen Daily that he’s scored the main role.
“Lars called me and said ‘Stellan, my next film will be a porno film, and I want you to play the lead in it'” says the actor, confirming reports that had been floating around for the past few weeks.
Finally, John Carpenter is making a gothic western and revealed (via Bleeding Cool) that he’d love to work with Amy Adams.
