20th Century Fox has officially begun filming the third standalone “Wolverine” film in New Orleans and the first shots are out of actor Hugh Jackman at work on it. Just Jared has posted these first photos which can be seen following the link I just provided.
Patrick Stewart, Boyd Holbrook, Stephen Merchant, Richard E. Grant, Eriq La Salle, Elise Neal and Elizabeth Rodriguez star in the film which James Mangold directs from a script by David James Kelly. In related news, filmmaker Bryan Singer has confirmed that he makes a brief appearance in “X-Men: Apocalypse,” a moment which seems him getting killed by Jackman’s Wolverine character. The director talks more about his onscreen role with Empire Spoiler Podcast:
“I have a little cameo, I’m the guy with the machine gun..screaming. When I look at it, I couldn’t recognize myself so I knew no one else could. But it was cool to get killed by Wolverine. It’s now one of the many things I can put on my resume. When went back later to film the Wolverine segment because Hugh was training for the next Wolverine sequel and we wanted him in a certain kind of shape. At first, Hugh was reticent to do it, but once I explained it to him, what the scene is and why it’s there, he agreed to do it over the phone, which is unusual. Usually there’s a bit of negotiation involved, but he said ‘You can call my Agent, but I’m in, I love it.'”
Finally, a ‘Wolverine Kill Count’ video has been assembled which clocks up all of the characters Wolverine has killed on screen to date bar in the just released ‘Apocalypse’.
