First Trailer: Young Adult Fantasy “Fallen”

With the young adult fantasy genre producing the occasional megahit (“Twilight”) or modest performer (“Divergent”) along with a string of critical and box-office duds, studios are playing it more cautious with efforts in this field.

“Fallen” is one such film, based on the Lauren Kate book series, which finally scored a trailer today. Set for a release in Singapore and Thailand in November, the long-delayed Scott Hicks-directed film follows a strong-willed seventeen-year-old named Luce (Addison Timlin) living a seemingly ordinary life until she is accused of a crime she didn’t commit.

Sent off to the imposing Sword & Cross reform school, Luce finds herself being courted by two mysterious students (Jeremy Irivine, Harrison Gilbertson) to whom she feels oddly connected – men who are actually fallen angels competing for her love for centuries.
