When not acting, James Franco has been busy directing a bunch of films with something in the range of around ten movies either in post-production or completed and ready to share. One, his John Steinbeck adaptation “In Dubious Battle,” hits the festival circuit this Fall.
Another though, and one of the most anticipated of the ten is his film take on Steve Erickson’s book “Zeroville”. The story follows a film-obsessed architecture student (Franco) who slides into the weird, wild world of late 1960s Los Angeles with the help of a surf hippie (Seth Rogen).
The cast includes Jacki Weaver as a foul-mouthed industry veteran, Danny McBride as a sinister financier, Megan Fox as a sexy femme fatale, and the likes of Will Ferrell, Dave Franco, Craig Robinson, Joey King and Horatio Sanz in supporting roles. The first trailer for the film is out ahead of a likely debut on the festival circuit early next year.
