After some initial misfires, Hulu has begun slowly building a solid stable of original series from one-off experiments like “11.22.63” to ongoing series such as “The Path” and “Shut Eye”.
They’ve several more 2017 series on the way but at the moment nothing for them is bigger than “The Handmaid’s Tale,” the prestige adaptation of Margaret Atwood’s dystopian novel in a twisted fundamentalist society where women are property of the state and are forced into sexual servitude.
Elisabeth Moss stars as one who works her way through society in order to survive and find the daughter that was taken from her. Samira Wiley, Alexis Bledel, Joseph Fiennes, Yvonne Strahovski and Max Minghella also star in the series which scored its first trailer today.
“The Handmaid’s Tale” premieres on April 26th 2017.
