Walt Disney Studios is adding another heroinne to its roster, their first South Pacific princess. Moana, voiced by Auli’i Cravalho, shows the young girl who teams up with the demi-god named Maui (voiced by Dwayne Johnson) on a journey to save her people from the ancient land of Oceania.
Ron Clements and John Musker helm the gorgeous looking film which boasts a script from “Zootopia” scribe Jared Bush, “What We Do in the Shadows” writer/director Taika Waititi, and acclaimed sitcom writer Pamela Ribon.
“Hamilton” star and creator Lin-Manuel Miranda is writing some original music with Opetaia Foa’i and Mark Mancina for the soundtrack. On top of that, “Hamilton” key actress Phillipa Soo lends her voice to the project which opens on November 23rd.
