First Trailer: Denzel Washington’s “Fences”

Paramount Pictures has debuted the first trailer for Denzel Washington’s film adaptation of August Wilson’s Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning play “Fences”.

Washington plays an African American father who struggles with race relations in the United States while trying to raise his family in the 1950s and coming to terms with the events of his life.

Viola Davis, Jovan Adepo, Stephen McKinley Henderson, Russell Hornsby, Mykelti Williamson, and Saniyya Sydney also star in the film which sees much of the cast of the 2010 Broadway revival of the work returning to their roles.

Washington directs from a screenplay by Wilson and produces alongside Todd Black and Scott Rudin. The film opens in cinemas on Christmas Day.
