Breaking out with “A Separation” and following that up with “The Past,” Iranian filmmaker Asghar Farhadi returns with this year’s double Cannes prize-winning “The Salesman”. Today the film’s trailer arrives ahead of its North American premiere shortly at the Toronto Film Festival.

The story follows begins when Emad (Shahab Hosseini) and Rana (Taraneh Alidoosti), a young couple living in Tehran, are forced to move into a new apartment after their old one is damaged. Eventually, an incident linked to the previous tenant of their new home dramatically changes the couple’s life.

Babak Karimi, Farid Sajjadi Hosseini, Mina Sadati, Maral Bani Adam, Mehdi Kooshki, Emad Emami, Shirin Aghakashi, Mojtaba Pirzadeh, Sahra Asadollahe, Ehteram Borourmand, and Sam Valipour also star in the film which opens December 9th.
