First Trailer: Andy Serkis’ “Mowgli”

Filmmaker Andy Serkis sticks much closer than Disney did to the darker tone of Rudyard Kipling’s “The Jungle Book” with his upcoming film adaptation of the work “Mowgli” opening this Fall.

The first trailer for the project is now out and differentiates itself from Jon Favreau’s recent film fairly well – there’s no singing bears or orangutans here, its a harsh coming of age film with self-actualisation in rough ways.

Serkis, Christian Bale, Benedict Cumberbatch, Cate Blanchett, Tom Hollander, Peter Mullan, Naomie Harris, Eddie Marsan, and Jack Reynor deliver mocap performances alongside Freida Pinto, Matthew Rhys, and relative newcomer Rohan Chand on screen in the film which opens October 19th.
