Bleecker Street and Participant Media have premiered the first trailer for “Breathe,” the directorial debut of beloved actor Andy Serkis.
Two-time Oscar nominee William Nicholson pens this uplifting true story period tale of the charismatic Robin Cavendish (Andrew Garfield) who is paralyzed by polio at age 28 and given just months to live.
Against all advice, his wife Diana (Claire Foy) brings him home from the hospital and with devotion and witty determination encourages him to lead a long and fulfilled life.
Refusing to be limited by expectations, they raise their young son and devote their lives to helping other polio patients. Hugh Bonneville, Tom Hollander, Stephen Mangan and Diana Rigg co-star.
The film has just been announced as the opening night gala title of the 61st BFI London Film Festival and will hit select U.S. cinemas on October 13th and U.K. cinemas on October 20th.
