Millennium Entertainment has posted the first trailer and poster for “Accidental Love,” the politically themed romantic comedy starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Jessica Biel which was originally called “Nailed”.
The story features Jessica Biel as a shy, small-town receptionist who has a nail accidentally shot into her head by a clumsy workman. She goes on a crusade to Washington to fight for the rights of the bizarrely injured, and an immoral congressman (Jake Gyllenhaal) takes advantage of her.
David O. Russell (“American Hustle,” “Three Kings”) helmed much of the film which is famous, or rather infamous, for being one of the most troubled productions in recent history. Russell shot the film in 2008, but numerous issues with financing led to the project being scrapped before the key scene of the nail going into Biel’s head was filmed.
Attempts were made to revive the project but it didn’t happen and Russell left it behind in 2010, disowning the movie at the time. The producers have since taken control of the film and have replaced both the title and Russell’s name with a nom-de-plume.
Thanks to some editing and what looks like digital trickery in this trailer, they’ve managed to complete the film and are readying it for a VOD release on February 10th followed by a very limited theatrical run on February 20th.
