First “Tintin” Posters, Trailer Tomorrow

Empire Online and AICN have debuted the first one-sheets for Steven Spielberg’s “The Adventures Of Tintin: The Secret Of The Unicorn” this morning which you can see below. Empire also promise to release an “exclusive look at the first trailer” on the site tomorrow. With the film being launched overseas in late October, two months ahead of the U.S. release, it’s definitely about time that marketing got underway.

The international poster today is lovely, a blend of elements including the sea plane and Saharan desert from “The Crab with the Golden Claws” combined with the sailing ship seen in the flashbacks from “The Secret of the Unicorn” story. The second poster isn’t as wide-reaching or adventurous in tone, but is a darker and a more moody piece. The real test though will be tomorrow and our first glimpse at these characters in action. Will the uncanny valley be too narrow and give that disturbing Zemeckis-like feel, or will it be stylised enough it won’t be an issue. We’ll soon find out.
