Universal Pictures chairman Donna Langley has revealed that “Fifty Shades Darker,” the upcoming sequel to this year’s smash hit “Fifty Shades of Grey,” will be “more of a thriller” according to the exec.
The quote comes from an interview with THR in which Langley discussed the much publicised difficulties in the making of the first film. She says: “For the record, the movie we ended up making is exactly the movie I wanted to make and that the studio wanted to make and that our director wanted to make.”
She also discussed the hiring of E.L. James’ husband Niall Leonard to pen the script for the second film, saying: “He actually did a draft that wasn’t credited on the first movie, and he did a really good job.”
