FOX has announced a January 14th 2019 premiere date for “The Passage,” its psychic drug that eventually becomes a post-apocalyptic sci-fi series starring Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Emmanuelle Chriqui, Saniyya Sidney, Brianne Howey, Vincent Piazza, Caroline Chikezie and Jamie McShane.
Ridley Scott’s Scott Free and Matt Reeves’ 6th and Idaho are producing the series based on Justin Cronin’s bestselling fantasy book trilogy and adapted by “Friday Night Lights” writer Liz Heldens. The novel spans centuries and stars out an epic, character-driven thriller that morphs into a post-apocalyptic odyssey.
The TV series adaptation starts at a secret medical facility where scientists are experimenting with a dangerous virus that could lead to the cure for all diseases, but also carries the potential to wipe out the human race. Sidney plays a ten-year-old girl who has special powers.
