One of the more intriguing sounding of the pre-Summer films this year is Daniel Espinosa’s “Child 44,” the film adaptation of the first book in Tom Rob Smith’s acclaimed trilogy which is set in Stalinist-era Russia.
Tom Hardy plays a Soviet police officer investigating a serial killer who is targeting children. But as he digs deeper into the case, his own government begins to suspect him of treason when a colleague frames him. Gary Oldman, Noomi Rapace, Joel Kinnaman, Charles Dance, Vincent Cassell, Tara Fitzgerald, Paddy Considine and Fares Fares also star in the film with the trailer due out shortly.
Today though, the first one-sheet for the film has been released through Hitfix and you can check it out below. The movie hits cinemas on April 17th:
