Garnering some strong critical supporters and a cult audience who appreciated its lean, dogged and old-fashioned approach, Christopher McQuarrie’s first “Jack Reacher” film in 2012 was enough of a success that a sequel was greenlit.
Ed Zwick takes over as director on “Jack Reacher: Never Go Back,” the new adaptation of the Lee Child novel which hits in October. Today, People have finally offered our first official look at the film with the first two official stills showing off Tom Cruise and Cobie Smulders in the New Orleans setting.
Zwick says the film will further delve into the Reacher character and assures fans that we’ll get to see plenty of Cruise doing his own stunts: “It’s a pretty boring job to be Tom’s stunt double, He did all of his own stunts. It’s almost a hallmark of what he does. He does every bit of it himself.”
