The currently in production TV series adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s fantasy novel “American Gods” has been gtting everything right so far. The casting has been excellent, the producers and writers involved like Bryan Fuller (“Hannibal”) and Michael Green (“Kings”).
Ian McShane, Ricky Whittle, Gillian Anderson, Emily Browning, Peter Stormare, Jonathan Tucker, Orlando Jones, Cloris Leachman, Crispin Glover, Pablo Schreiber, Bruce Langley and Yetide Badaki amongst others star in the series which aims to premiere next year.
Now the first photos from the series have been released by EW, offering a first look at Mr. Wednesday (McShane), Shadow Moon (Whittle), Mad Sweeney (Schreiber) and a memorable location from the book – Jack’s Crocodile Bar.
Talking about the set, Fuller says: “It was one of the sets that we were the most excited about and an opportunity to do a tonal landgrab for what we are and what the style of the show will be. [Jack’s] is a kind of hillbilly chic aesthetic for Shadow’s entree into the world of the gods.”
