It has taken years to get there, but at last filming has begun on the two-film adaptation of Stephen King’s iconic novel “IT”.
Director Andres Muschietti has confirmed that work has begun on the horror adaptation and has begun posting photos from the set including the film’s logo and some sinister red balloons. These follows on from what looks like a sketch of what Bill Skarsgard’s villain Pennywise the Clown that he drew up a few months ago which was his most recent posting before this week.
Finn Wolfhard, Jack Dylan Grazer, Wyatt Oleff, Chosen Jacobs and Jeremy Ray Taylor all star in the film as the young members of the Losers Club, while Owen Teague has signed on to play the bully Patrick Hocksetter.
The second film will feature the same characters reuniting as adults who must put down the creature again, even though none of them really remember the first encounter. The first part of “It” is scheduled for a September 8th 2017 release.
