First Photo: Ultron In “Avengers: Age of Ultron”

At last, the primary villain of Marvel’s “Avengers: Age of Ultron” has been revealed. The cover of this week’s Entertainment Weekly gives us a first look at the robot Ultron as he’ll appear in the upcoming “The Avengers” sequel.

The publication has also teased some major plot points regarding the character. Tony Stark creates Ultron (James Spader), a self-aware, self-teaching, artificial intelligence designed to help assess threats, and direct Stark’s Iron Legion of drones to battle evildoers. Joss Whedon says: “Ultron sees the big picture and he goes, ‘Okay, we need radical change, which will be violent and appalling, in order to make everything better’; he’s not just going ‘Muhaha, soon I’ll rule’. He’s on a mission, he wants to save us.”

As Ultron is an artificial intelligence, he has the ability to upload himself into places and recreate himself in multiple different forms – some bigger, stronger and faster than others indicating this look at Ultron is just one of several in the film:
