Warner Bros. Television has unveiled the first photo of Cress Williams in costume for the pilot episode of The CW’s upcoming fifth DC superhero series “Black Lightning” based on the character widely considered the first African-American superhero.
The story follows Jefferson Pierce, a former superhero who hung up his suit and secret identity. However, he is pulled back into the fight when one daughter becomes hell-bent on justice and the other, a star student, is recruited by a local gang.
“Iron Man” and “Jumanji” reboot costume designer Laura Jean Shannon designed the suit for the series which is in production. The show has yet to be picked up by the network at this point though.
