Marvel and Netflix have offered a first look at the upcoming event series “Marvel’s The Defenders” to Entertainment Weekly. The quartet of heroes from the various Marvel Netflix series come together for the cover photo which you can see below.
There’s a featurette about its making with the four actors discussing their characters and how they work together in a group dynamic – Jessica Jones the anti-social one, Matt Murdock the stubborn one, Danny Rand the organiser who knows what’s going on, and Luke Cage the calm center of the group.
The article also offers a first look photo of Sigourney Weaver as the villain Alexandra, a powerful force in New York City who is described as “sophisticated, intellectual, [and] dangerous.”
It also goes into details about the heroes’ first meeting on screen which will take place at the offices of Midland Circle – the shady operation who were behind the giant hole the Hand were digging up in Hell’s Kitchen in the second season of “Daredevil”.
The four, who each have been following their own trail of bread crumbs, wind up trapped in the middle of a corridor and must brawl their way past a group of enemies – yep, it’s a hallway fight scene.
The eight-episode series will premiere in 2017.
