The remake of 1978’s “Long Weekend” directed by Jamie Blanks (“Urban Legend,” “Valentine”) and starring Jim Caviezel and Claudia Karvan is now filming in and around Wilson’s Promontory National Park in Victoria, Australia – the first feature film to be granted permission to shoot there.
The psychological thriller combines a healthy dose of melodrama and the supernatural. A married couple with issues take a camping trip and find themselves lost and at odds with mother nature.
Night shoots are now underway and locals are flocking to watch places like the Yanakie General Store becomethe Eggleston Hotel for scenes in the movie. One crew member even won a prize in the Yanakie CFA raffle.
