The first trailer for “IT: Chapter 2” is expected to arrive online this week following a digital billboard currently lighting up Times Square in New York City.
Said billboard show’s the characters iconic red balloons and blood red lettering in the same font as marketing materials for the first film but with the words ‘Trailer Drops Thursday’.
Warner Bros. Pictures has yet to officially announce anything, though the release of said trailer has been expected in recent weeks ahead of the film’s opening September 6th.
At this point in the first film’s cycle we already had a teaser trailer, poster and several photos online, right now all we have for the second is one shot of James McAvoy.
The new film adapts the other half of Stephen King’s iconic novel, in this the original kids are now grown adults who return to Derry three decades later to face Pennywise once and for all.
The first film grossed more than $700 million at the global box office, the highest-grossing horror movie of all-time, and the first trailer launched to 197 million views in the first 24 hours – even now it’s still the fifth most watched trailer launch of all time behind only three “Avengers” trailer launches and “The Lion King” remake teaser.
Prepare to return to Derry and float again
