First “Hellboy: Rise of the Blood Queen” Art

Following in the wake of last week’s news that a “Hellboy” film reboot is on the way with shooting aiming to begin this Fall, the first promo art for it has just made its debut at the Cannes Film Market. An original drawing by creator Mike Mignola himself, the art debuted on IGN and you can check it out below.

Neil Marshall (“The Descent,” “Game of Thrones”) helms the film which stars David Harbour of “Stranger Things” as the title hero. Andrew Cosby, Christopher Golden and Mignola penned the script and Millennium Films hopes to begin shooting the R-rated adventure this September.

In the comics, Hellboy is a demon summoned from Hell by the Nazi occultists near the end of World War II. Raised by Professor Trevor Bruttenholm of Bureau for Paranormal Research and Defense, Hellboy became the world’s greatest occult detective.
