Blumhouse Productions CEO Jason Bloom has confirmed on Twitter that the first trailer for the highly anticipated Jamie Lee Curtis-led “Halloween” revival will hit this Friday.
The film serves as a direct sequel to John Carpenter’s iconic original, ignoring all the others, and sees Laurie Strode (Curtis) coming to a final confrontation with Michael Myers, the masked figure who has haunted her since she narrowly escaped his killing spree on Halloween night four decades ago.
Bloody Disgusting reports that some additional shooting on the film is scheduled to take place from June 11th in Charleston, South Carolina with high school student extras sought for one unknown sequence. Reportedly the reshoots are only minor and mostly to tweak the finale after the film’s first test screening.
An extended version of the first trailer was a major hit at CinemaCon last month. Judy Greer and Andi Matichak co-star while David Gordon Green helms from a script written by Danny McBride and Jeff Fradley. The movie opens October 19th.
