First “Ghostbusters” Reboot Set Photos

Filming began yesterday in Boston on the Paul Feig-directed, female-centric reboot of the “Ghostbusters” franchise for Sony Pictures. Three of the four new Ghostbusters, stars Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy and Kate McKinnon, were on hand for filming and already the first set photos from the project have gone online.

The characters are not in their new Ghostbusters uniforms, only their civilian clothing which itself looks fairly colourful. Plot rumours have Wiig as a woman whose prestigious job at Columbia ends before it begins when it’s learned she co-wrote a book claiming ghosts are real. She soon finds herself teaming with her ex co-writer and that woman’s new partner to hunt ghosts, just as the Big Apple is terrorised by a wave of them.

The pics come on top of a photo that Feig posted yesterday on his Twitter account that suggests Slimer would be appearing in the reboot.
