Filmmaker Duncan Jones (“Source Code,” “Warcraft”) has posted the first piece of concept art for his next film, the sci-fi thriller “Mute,” which begins production next week. Paul Rudd, Alexander Skarsgard and Sam Rockwell are are set to star in the film which is based on a script by Jones and Mike Johnson.
The story is set in Berlin, forty years from today. Skarsgard plays a mute bartender has one reason and one reason only for living here, and she has disappeared. When his search takes him deeper into the city’s underbelly, a pair of American surgeons (led by Rudd) are his only clue.
Jones has previously confirmed that the film is ‘related’ to his 2009 debut feature “Moon,” how though is unclear. One connection is that his “Moon” composer Clint Mansell is onboard the project.
