Disney has released the first clip from Disney Channel’s “The Lion Guard: Return of the Roar,” a primetime TV movie event coming this November that continues on events of “The Lion King”.
The story follows Kion, the second-born cub of Simba and Nala, as he assumes the role of leader of the Lion Guard, a team of African Savannah animals tasked with preserving the Pride Lands. The telemovie serves as a pilot for a new “The Lion Guard” TV series which will kick off early next year.
James Earl Jones and Ernie Sabella reprise their roles from “The Lion King” as Mufasa and Pumbaa. Also onboard is Rob Lowe as Simba, Gabrielle Union as Nala, Max Charles as Kion, Joshua Rush as Kion’s honey badger best friend Bunga, Atticus Shaffer as the intellectual egret Ogo, Diamond White as confident cheetah Fuli, and Dusan Brown as the good-spirited hippo Beshte.
