Endeavor Content has reportedly spent several million to purchase the screen rights to “Fire and Fury,” Michael Wolff’s best-selling expose of the Trump White House and plans to adapt it for the small screen.
The book deals with Donald Trump’s first year as U.S. president based on Wolff’s exclusive access to the White House – it has already been the publishing sensation of 2018.
The book had attracted little attention until media reports and excerpts turned it into a sensation. Trump attacked both the book and former adviser Steve Bannon, one of Wolff’s principal sources, leading to only more interest.
In less than a week, the publisher reported more than 1.4 million hardcovers on order and 700,000 copies shipped, making it the fastest-selling nonfiction book in the company’s history.
A network is not yet attached, and Endeavor will now begin shopping the project. Wolff and Channel 4 vet Michael Jackson will executive produce the series.
