Finn Wolfhard (“IT,” “Stranger Things”) has joined the cast of the adaptation of the Donna Tartt’s best-selling novel “The Goldfinch” at Warner Bros. Pictures and Amazon Studios.
John Crowley (“Brooklyn”) helms the film starring Ansel Elgort as Theo, a young man who loses his mother in a museum bombing and is taken in by a wealthy family, only to be drawn into New York City’s art underworld.
Wolfhard will play Young Boris, a Ukrainian student and troublemaker who bonds with Theo due to their both having lost their mothers. Boris introduces Theo to drugs and alcohol.
Sarah Paulson, Jeffrey Wright, Luke Wilson and Aneurin Barnard also star in the film which begins shooting later this month. Nina Jacobson and Brad Simpson are producing.
