Fincher’s “20,000 Leagues” Delays Production

Production on David Fincher’s remake of “20,000 Leagues Under the Sea” at Disney Pictures has been put on hold.

Originally slated to shoot in Sydney next month, a spokeswoman now confirms production won’t start until 2014. The delay is said to be due to casting issues after Brad Pitt passed on the lead role of Ned Land.

This follows a month after the Australian federal government earmarked $21.6 million to help lure the production to Australia.
