Following their successful collaboration on “House of Cards,” Netflix has picked up a second drama series from David Fincher which has been titled “Mindhunter”.
Based on John Douglas and Mark Olshanker’s 1996 book “Mind Hunter: Inside the FBI’s Elite Serial Crime Unit,” the story explores Olshanker’s 25-year career developing criminal-profiling techniques for the FBI and tracking down serial killers.
Originally developed at HBO and at Charlize Theron’s Denver and Delilah company, Joe Penhall (“The Road”) will pen the script while Fincher and Theron are on board to executive produce. Fincher is set to direct what the streaming service hopes will be its equivalent of this year’s water cooler event “The Jinx”.
