Netflix has announced that famed filmmaker “David Fincher” and “Deadpool” director Tim Miller are set to team on a new animated anthology series for the streamer that’s titled “Love, Death & Robots”.
Comprised of eighteen animated shorts, this will be aimed towards adults with stories that go across every genre from science fiction, comedy, fantasy and horror. Characters will include sentient dairy products, werewolf soldiers and robots gone wild. Animation styles will vary from traditional 2D to photoreal CG with different teams around the world creating each one.
Miller previously scored an Oscar nomination for his animated short “Gopher Broke”. Miller and Fincher previously worked together on the opening credits sequence of Fincher’s 2011 adaptation of “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo”.
Fincher will begin production on the “World War Z” sequel in June, Miller wrapped production on the “Terminator” reboot in November and is slated to helm the “Neuromancer” adaptation at Fox.
