Final “Rogue One” Trailer, Edwards Talks Obi-Wan

With the release of “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” just over a week away, one last international trailer has gone online. Presented by Chinese acting legends Donnie Yen and Jiang Wen, there’s a bunch of new footage and a really exciting tone to this one. Check it out at the bottom of this article.

More quotes from the film’s junket this past weekend have come out with director Gareth Edwards asked what other sort of “Star Wars” movie he would want to see get made. His response to The Playlist was something between the prequel and original trilogy, a kind of lone samurai/cowboy film tone (ala. “Logan”) with Obi-Wan Kenobi on Tattooine:

“I would love to see anything with Obi Wan Kenobi in it. Someone did a really cool illustration online of a half Ewan McGregor, half Alec Guiness; you couldn’t tell the difference. It was like the wilderness years. I just saw that image and I thought, I would love to… that would be interesting. Sort of a samurai movie or something a little bit lonely. Like a very simple one, not an epic battle. Something more lonely and maybe an incident nearly got to a young Luke Skywalker or who knows.”

In related news, a report over at On Location Vacations indicates that shooting on Colin Trevorrow’s “Star Wars: Episode IX” could begin as early as April next year – just over two years ahead of its proposed May 23rd 2019 release.

“Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” opens in cinemas on December 16th.
