Filming has wrapped on the third season of HBO’s “True Detective” according to The Fayetteville Flyer (via Coming Soon). Shooting has been taking place on the new season lauded anthology detective series in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
The third season is set in the heart of the Ozarks. A disturbing crime occurs and a mystery that deepens over decades plays out in three separate time periods. Mahershala Ali, Ray Fisher, Stephen Dorff, Carmen Ejogo and Jon Tenney star.
Show creator Nic Pizzolatto serves as the showrunner and executive producer, and will be the sole writer of the third season bar the fourth episode which he co-wrote with “Deadwood” creator David Milch. Scott Stephens, Matthew McConaughey, Woody Harrelson, Steve Golin, Bard Dorros, and Richard Brown are also executive producers.
The new season is expected to hit HBO sometime in 2019.
