Filmmaker Kevin Smith has revealed that production has wrapped on the upcoming “Jay and Silent Bob Reboot” feature following a three-week shoot which took place in New Orleans.
Smith says the 21-day shoot took exactly as long as “Clerks” did some 26 years ago and dubs the project his ‘Askewniverse magnum opus’. Smith and Jason Mewes are reprising their title roles alongside other stars (and new faces) from the original film.
The new movie will take pot shots at reboots, remakes, and sequels while simultaneously being all three at the same time. The wrapping comes as actor Ben Affleck revealed to Collider he hasn’t been asked to make an appearance and if he had a choice he’d love to come back as his “Chasing Amy” character Holden McNeil.
Saban Films is planning a theatrical release.
