Fox Searchlight has formally announced that production has commenced on writer/director Taika Waititi’s anti-war satire “Jojo Rabbit” with the director now sharing the first photo from the set to mark the end of the first week of filming.
Set during World War II, the story revolves around a young boy (Roman Griffin Davis) living in Germany whose only ally is his imaginary friend Hitler (Waititi). The kid’s naive patriotism is tested when a young girl (Thomasin McKenzie) upends his world views and forces him to face his biggest fears.
Scarlett Johansson, Sam Rockwell, and Rebel Wilson co-star and filming is underway in Prague. Fox Searchlight hasn’t yet set a release date for the film.
Week one down of our anti-fuckface satire, Jojo Rabbit. Can't wait to share it with the world. Also, what better way to insult Hitler than having him portrayed by a Polynesian Jew?
