Filming has officially begun on “Rabid,” the upcoming remake of David Cronenberg’s cult 1977 film of the same name. “American Mary” and “Dead Hooker in a Trunk” directors The Soska Sisters helm the new film which Shout! Studios will release States-side.
Laura Vandervoort, Ben Hollingsworth, Hanneke Talbot, Mackenzie Gray, CM Punk and AJ Mendez star in the story about a young woman who, after an accident leaves her scarred beyond recognition, undergoes a radical untested stem-cell treatment. She becomes a beauty, but the experimental transformation comes at a price.
Jen Soska, Sylvia Soska and John Serge penned the new take which is said to offer a modern and relevant spin from the woman’s perspective. Michael Walker, Paul Lalonde and John Vidette are producing.
