Filming has officially begun on the upcoming reboot of the “Charlie’s Angels” franchise at Sony Pictures.
Co-writer and director Elizabeth Banks used social media to announce the news, saying: “Continuing the legacy of telling the story of three incredible women working together. #womeninfilm #CharliesAngels #DayOne #2019 #femalefilmmaker”.
Kristen Stewart (“Personal Shopper”), Naomi Scott (“Power Rangers”) and Ella Balinska (“Casualty”) lead the cast of the new film which also stars Patrick Stewart and Banks as two versions of Bosley in the story in which the Townsend Agency is now a multinational security outfit with numerous ‘angels’ worldwide.
“Narcos” writers/producers Doug Miro and Carlo Bernard penned the script and the film opens September 27th 2019.
