Fifth “Indiana Jones” Won’t Be A Reboot

Since the purchase of Lucasfilm by Disney Pictures, there’s been talk of a fifth “Indiana Jones” film that initially started out with Harrison Ford reprising the title role despite his advancing age.

More recently though, that talk has turned towards reboot territory with actors like Chris Pratt and Bradley Cooper floated as possibilities by fans.

Speaking with Total Film (via Den of Geek) this week, producer Frank Marshall has shot down the more recent rumors saying there’s no plans to recast Ford at this point:

“There are a lot of rumours. We haven’t even sat down to talk about Indy yet… at some point we’ll sit down. But there’s a bunch of people who could probably take the baton… We’re not doing the Bond thing where we’re going to call somebody else Indiana Jones… we have to figure this out.”

Steven Spielberg recently admitted that he will ‘probably’ do a fifth Indiana Jones film in coming years, beyond that though there is no further information available.
