After numerous failed video game to movie adaptations, filmmaker Justin Kurzel’s “Assassin’s Creed” looked like it was the one that finally had a chance of breaking through and offering us one that worked. The final result was critically a mess, though commercially did reasonably for Fox.
“ASSASSIN’S CREED” END SPOILERS AHEAD
In a new featurette about the film, it turns out that the original plan was for a bleaker ending – one in which Cal Lynch (Michael Fassbender) was originally left the last assassin standing and had to carry out his final mission by himself following the deaths of his fellow assassins who were all killed during their uprising.
“Assassin’s Creed” is coming to DVD and Blu-Ray on March 21st and several more deleted scenes will appear on the disc with comments from both Kurzel and the film’s editor.
